Nothing's impossible, though I can't really comment on any potential products.

Okay, if you made it, how much power would it have?

A lot.

How much is that?

I can only confirm that infiniti is passionate about speed and performance, and you can expect to see that reflected in any products we choose to bring to market.

Now isn't that a whole lot better than the braggadocio about how awesome your V-Cylinder engine would be if you made it for the car you might-maybe-could bring to market? All of the market speak with none of the stupidity.

Excellence in engineering is what we stand for here at Infiniti. You can expect our vehicles to showcase the best available technological solutions to problems facing drivers both on the road and on the track.

I should have went into marketing.

Those are all confirmed cars with specs released. The Q60 is as well, but this trim level is not.

Sure, but those companies also give out some advance information on what upcoming performance models will look like, in terms of performance.

The whole Ew Roo not-saying-what-motor-it-has stuff kinda bugs me because Infiniti seems to want to gauge public reaction to the Ew Roo and then decide if they want to build it. Which in and of itself is fine.

But this is a performance car that's supposed to compete with the M3, C63, RS4, CTS-V, IS-F, etc. The main appeal of those cars being performance. Seems like a far better way to gauge public reaction is something like "hey car-buying public, if we build this car it'll have this type of motor making about this much power and cost about this much, would you buy a car like this?"

We only get advance info when they've got something they're ready to put on their network of dealer lots. If that's not the case, then you can't expect that. It's clear Infiniti wants something along the same lines as M, AMG, and S/RS, but it's also clear that they're not entirely sure what that should be yet, so there isn't any info to reveal. No matter who's building what, we aren't getting any info beyond leaks and speculation until everythings out of the lab/testing area and moments away from public consumption. It's always been this way.

This is going to be as true for performance cars as it is for the rest of the beige, and it's fine this way. Post reveal, new cars get at least a few months (and at most 6 months to a year) lead time before hitting the market anyway, so there will be plenty of time to bench race and make comparisons to other stuff on the market before actually committing to a dealer visit.

I can't remember what other site I was on but they stated (paraphrased here) that "The GT-R engine is the one that first comes to mind but is too big to fit into the engine bay for the Q50; the new V8 from the C63 Mercedes would make more sense."

I haven't seen the measurements on the VR, but I am pretty sure that even with the turbos it is about the same size as the VQ.

A couple examples of what I mean:

BMW showed off the M4 Concept last summer that looks pretty much identical to the production car. They didn't officially announce powertrain details, but every news story about it said that "sources" tell them it'll have a 3.0 liter turbo inline 6 with 400-450 hp. I wonder who those "sources" were?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Similarly, the ATS-V isn't out yet, hasn't been officially announced, but there are posts everywhere talking about how it'll have the TT V6 from the CTS V-sport.

Why go to the trouble of showing the styling of the Ew Roo, but not even leak something about the motor?
